Chelsea Whitmore
Since graduating from San Diego State University's Theatre Arts Department with a degree in Theatre Education, Chelsea Whitmore has grown into her position as the Program Director and Producer for Playwrights Project. Her passion for inspiring artists and encouraging new works has only flourished in the five years she has spent there. For many years she was a freelance theatre director and has directed at such theatres as MOXIE theatre (where she was an Artistic Associate), Actors Alliance Festival, Challenge Theatre Festival, The Resilience of the Spirit Festival, and the New York International Fringe Festival. She has assistant directed at The Old Globe, Cygnet Theatre, MOXIE Theatre, and North Coast Repertory Theatre. Currently she is getting her Master of Science in Arts Administration from Drexel University. The theatre has always been a part of Chelsea's life, from directing the neighborhood kids in a riveting production of Alice in Wonderland to her current position with Playwrights Project.
